Zahedi illustration exhibit underway in Tokyo

TEHRAN -- Another exhibition of book illustrations by Iranian artist Morteza Zahedi is underway at the T-Box Gallery in Tokyo.
The exhibit, which is showcasing his children’s book illustrations, will run until February 9.Kiko Aiko, a Japanese translator of Persian children’s books who organized the event, told the Persian service of IRNA that the Zahedi exhibit features a series of 25 works entitled “Collection of Demons”.
She said she has organized about 15 exhibits of Iranian artworks, some of which were Zahedi’s.
Aiko added that the book “Journey of a Butterfly”, written by Marjan Keshavarz Azad and illustrated by Zahedi, is also available at the exhibit.
Aiko, who is a fan of Iranian book illustration works, has translated five Iranian children’s books into Japanese including “Where Are You Going Aunt Cockroach?” by Marjan Azad.
Aiko said that she is planning to translate more Persian works into Japanese in the future.
